WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Police charged a man they say showed up with a shotgun after an argument that started at two Wilmington homes Saturday and threatened to shoot and kill several people.

Wilmington Police say it happened around 6:30 p.m. at two homes in the 2800 block of Vance Street. That's where officers say they responded to a call about a man with a gun.

Police say when they got to the area, they found out Gary Sipe Criss, 53, first got into an argument with people living at the homes at 2833 and 2834 Vance St. before leaving the area. When Criss returned, police say he got out of his truck with a shotgun, pointed it at five people there and threatened to shoot and kill them all.

Officers say one of the victims was able to grab the gun, beating Criss with it. Criss was then taken to the hospital for stitches to his forehead before going to jail.

Criss is in jail under $50,000 secured bond. He is charged with five counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, as well as going armed to the terror of the public.
